Microsoft Start app offers a personalized news reading experience to android users. With this app, Microsoft is rebranding these into Windows Start and integrating the feed into the Windows 11 widgets section on your Laptop.
And just like its News service, this app includes news and media channels from more than 1,000 publishers. Microsoft uses AI and machine learning algorithms to sort through which news is presented to users and to personalize content.
Microsoft Start
The Microsoft Start app will offer top stories, personalized recommendations, and sports scores including the weather in its feed. You can follow and hide publishers you favor and dislike, and customizations are synced to the Start mobile apps.
A Personalize button allows you to directly manage your feed. Weather, stock market, traffic, and sports scores all are tailored to your situation.
Microsoft Start feed will combine content from news publishers, but in a way that’s tailored to users’ individual interests, the company says — a customization system that could help Microsoft better compete with the news reading experiences offered by rivals like Apple or Google, as well as popular third-party apps like Flipboard or SmartNews.
When you click to read an article, you’re taken to the hosted on Microsoft’s domain. This includes the Microsoft Start top navigation bar at the top and emoji reaction buttons below the headline.
To download the Microsoft Start app click the download button above. Install the files once the download finishes and your app will be ready to use and read the news.
